The Last Woman in Town

A town usually has so many inhabitant inside it. But,have you ever heard a town called Monowi? This city has population of just one person. Her name is Elsie Eiler,The last woman in Monowi.

Monowi is a small town located in Nebraska,United States. In 1930,this city had at least 130 people who lived there,but people left this city and moved to the bigger city in United States with a purpose to get a better job. Migration that happened in Monowi recorded as the biggest migration in the history of America.
In 2000,there were only two people who lived there.They were Rudy and his wife, Elsie Eiler. Unfortunately, Rudy died in 2004,leaving Elsie as the only remaining inhabitant in Monowi.

As the only person who lived in this city, Elsie do anything by herself. This 82 years old woman become the mayor of this city, a librarian, and also a bartender for her own bar called Manowi Tavern. This bar is the only business that still run in this city. The customers usually are the people who past the toll road or the travellers. She also pay taxes for herself, plan a budget for street lights, and give a permission to sell alcoholic beverages.

Living alone with three job definitely not easy for her. So we can see so many abandoned and tumbledown buildings right there.
